Strategic Divorce Consultant | Investigative Bookkeeper

AboutMichell Keif

Divorce divides. Families. Finances. Businesses. Homes. Time with children. Sometimes careers, communities, and the very identity a person spent years building.

Michell Keif understands that division  both personally and professionally.

She also understands that the consequences of decisions made during divorce can extend far beyond the final decree - affecting financial security, businesses, parent-child relationships, future opportunities, and families for generations.

That understanding is at the heart of Relationship Resolutions.

A Different Path to This Work

Michell did not set out to become a divorce consultant.

Her professional foundation was built across the legal and financial disciplines. Early in her career, Michell worked in family, bankruptcy, and criminal law before joining McLain & Merritt, P.C., where she served as a Corporate Legal Assistant. Her professional education includes accounting and paralegal studies at Kennesaw State University.

Her career later expanded into professional bookkeeping, financial analysis, and investigative financial work - disciplines that would eventually become integral to the way she approaches complex divorce matters.

But her understanding of divorce began somewhere much more personal.

As a young mother, Michell experienced what it meant to enter divorce without the financial resources, guidance, or understanding necessary to recognize everything that was at stake. The consequences reached into her education, financial security, family relationships, and sense of identity.

She learned firsthand that what happens during divorce does not necessarily end when the divorce does.

Actions have generational consequences.

Rather than allowing those experiences to define her future, Michell eventually found a different purpose for them.

The Turning Point

Today, she uses that experience differently.

The Case That Changed Everything

Years later, while working in professional bookkeeping, a woman walked through the door looking for help.

She was a stay-at-home mother facing divorce. She had limited financial knowledge, little understanding of the process ahead of her - and tremendous determination.

She needed more than bookkeeping.

She needed someone who could help her understand the finances, organize the information, prepare for what was coming, and work alongside the professionals handling her case.

Michell became that person.

That case became the impetus for Relationship Resolutions.

As more clients followed, Michell recognized a recurring gap in the divorce process: there can be an enormous amount of critical work that exists between the client and the traditional professional team.

That space became her specialty.

Today, Michell combines her legal-support background, financial experience, investigative instincts, organizational skills, and lived understanding of family transition to provide a level of strategic support that extends beyond conventional divorce coaching.

She is particularly suited to clients who do not want to become the full-time administrators of their own divorces. They have businesses to operate. Careers to maintain. Children to raise. Lives that cannot simply stop while litigation moves forward.

They need to understand their case.

They do not necessarily need to personally manage every detail of it.

Why It Matters

For Michell, this work has never been solely about how a marriage ends. It is about what remains afterward.

The business that still needs to operate. The financial foundation from which two separate lives must now be built. The identity that exists beyond the marriage. The relationship between parent and child. And children who deserve every opportunity to flourish without carrying the conflict of one generation into the next.

That is why Michell encourages her clients to be peacemakers. But peace-making should never be confused with passivity.

Sometimes clarity reveals that compromise is the wisest path forward. Sometimes it reveals that a boundary must be defended, a financial question must be answered, or something too important to surrender is at stake.

Knowing the difference is part of the strategy.

Peace-making is a journey.

Sometimes, the path to peace is war.

But war is never the destination.

There is rarely a true victor in divorce. The objective is not conflict for the sake of conflict, nor resolution at any cost. It is informed resolution - reached with a clear understanding of what is being protected, what is being conceded, and what stands to be lost if the parties cannot find their own path forward before trial.

Because the measure of this work is not simply how the marriage ended. It is what remains when the conflict is over.

For Legal Teams

A collaborative role, deliberately defined

Michell Keif brings a multidisciplinary background in legal support, professional bookkeeping, financial analysis, and investigative financial work to complex domestic matters. Her foundation in the legal profession includes experience in family, bankruptcy, criminal, and corporate law. She later served as a Corporate Legal Assistant with McLain & Merritt, P.C., supporting associate attorneys working under the direction of Robert Hill.

Today, as co-founder of Relationship Resolutions, Michell works alongside family-law attorneys and other professional advisors to help manage the financial, documentary, organizational, and client-side demands that can consume substantial professional time in complex divorce matters.

Her objective is not to duplicate the work of counsel. It is to help ensure that the work surrounding the legal strategy gets done: better-organized financial information, more efficient document review, a better-prepared client, clearer communication, and an experienced professional remaining focused on details that might otherwise consume attorney or staff time.

When an issue requires legal analysis, forensic accounting, tax advice, valuation, or another specialized discipline, Michell's role is to recognize the need, organize the relevant information, and bring it to the appropriate professional - not to assume that professional's role.

She understands that counsel's highest value lies in providing legal judgment, advocacy, and strategy - not in spending professional time chasing documents, reconstructing financial histories, or repeatedly bringing an overwhelmed client back up to speed.

Relationship Resolutions helps bridge that gap.
